Image popups for the 21st century
Over the weekend I’ve been working on image popups. Hardly the most difficult topic to spend a weekend on, you might think, but then I never was content with simply popping up a new window; that would just be far too easy…
Live comment previewing
Try typing into a comments box on this site, and you’ll see a nifty preview of your comment, complete with markup (bold text, links, and so on).
And just to give credit where it’s due, I should probably point out that they’re absolutely nothing to do with me…
Site stats
I’ve been experimenting with ShortStats, a site statistics collector. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to set up, although if you want this to run under Textpattern you’ll need to swap things around a bit…
Site rework
The new site is more or less up & running. There’s still work to be done on both the design and the content, but I decided to throw caution to the wind and do the rest of it while the site is live.
The static content php pages are no more – all the page content is now pulled from a database driven by TextPattern. It’s a pretty nice system, although it’s new and it shows : there’s basically no documentation, and I’ve been hacking around in the source code to get it working how I want it.
